Pride in Trafford

13 - 18 May 2025

Welcome to Pride in Trafford 2025 – a vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ arts and culture!

Trafford proudly unveils the programme for its seventh annual Pride in Trafford festival — an inspiring exploration of LGBTQ+ life, creativity, and community.

This year, we’re thrilled to expand the celebration beyond Waterside to include events in Altrincham, making it our most exciting and inclusive year yet.

From powerful performances and artistic showcases to moments of reflection and joyous gatherings, Pride in Trafford offers a dynamic space where everyone can come together to celebrate love, identity, and diversity. Whether you're here to be moved, entertained, or inspired, there's something for everyone.

About

Pride in Trafford explores and celebrates both identity and LGBTQ+ life in Trafford. The work aims to challenge and entertain, taking a queer art focus over a more traditional pride format.

The inaugural Pride in Trafford took place in 2019, with a strong commitment to diversity, telling stories and celebrating artists many of which are often under-represented.

Our 2020 festival was reimagined as a micro-digital festival.

Our 2021 festival took place during the first week of Waterside re-opening its doors after 14 months of closure.

In 2022 we launched the family- focused Pride on the Plaza too - with some sunshine and high spirits and in 2023 local businesses showed their support, with many of the events taking place around Sale.

2024 saw Pride in Trafford’s first Block Party, a celebration of inclusivity and unity across the weekend with a Family Edition on the Plaza and our vibrant theatre space transformed into a Ballroom!

Pride in Trafford continues to evolve each year and we are proud to make this annual event an important focus for the community.

Our Manifesto

We are one, powerful community of LGBTQ+ people who unite in solidarity and create a safe space to celebrate and thrive.

We champion LGBTQ+ arts as a powerful vehicle for expression, representation and social change.

We stand together and provide a platform for artists and creatives to share their lived experience, stories and creative expressions.

We welcome EVERYONE to celebrate with us, to be part of our vibrant, resilient and inclusive community; in return, we ask for respect and courtesy. Be an ally and stand by and stand up!

We cannot celebrate full equality until our whole community is able to live freely without fear of prejudice and discrimination.

So join together and celebrate the richness of our EPIC LGBTQ+ community here in Trafford, by being your true unique self.
